The Producer is none other than No ID who’s shot to fame, producing Jay z’s Run This Town and American Gangster Album.
Richard Ashcroft has been out of the lime light since The Verve split again in 2008 after their 4th studio album aptly dubt “Forth”. Despite headlining Glastonbury 08 and V. The strange some band to tear the band apart and in August 2009 it was official The Verve had split for the third time.
Nick Mcabe and Simon Jones have since formed the Black Ships with Davide Rossi and Mig Schillace.
Since 1997 Richard Ashcroft has had 5 hit albums including his own solo work.
The Debut Album Redemption came out late and with not that much hype like you sore for the Verve’s Album Forth. The First single to be released prior to the Album was Are You Ready which really set the album up for a big fall as it entered the UK album chart at 20 and fell a week later to 59th. Reviews for redemption where a mixed bag some loving most hating. The album seemed like a personal voyage for Ashcroft constantly spouting out about religion.
Will there be a 2nd album from United Nations of Sound probably not given by the lack lustre performance of Remdemtion.
“Egotism is the force that allows a goose think he’s a swan. It’s also what makes Richard Paul Ashcroft perceive himself as a modern-day Oracle”
“The album’s opening track ‘Are You Ready’ invites a question: ready for what? The answer, it turns out, is endless tedium and clichés.”
“Elsewhere, on ‘Life Can Be Beautiful’ Ashcroft sounds like his knackers have been twisted in a vice as he churns out lines fit for Chef from South Park”
